After a long-anticipated break, the Dunlop Super 2 Series will hit the track for the first time since February and will this weekend take on the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint. There’s no denying that Eggleson Motorsport driver, Jordyn Sinni is looking forward to getting back into the #54 CarCity backed Holden and giving it a crack.

“It sure has been a while since I’ve been in the car,” said Sinni.

“It’s a shame it’s so long in between races, but I’ve been keeping busy in between rounds – including racing my Kart in the National Championships which was a lot of fun! I’ve also been doing a lot of fitness work and of course working my 9-5 job. So, there’s been plenty to do!

“I’m super keen to get to it this weekend at Perth though. Last year I had a pretty good run, so I’m hoping we can go well again.”

Tyre degradation will be the biggest talking point across teams this weekend, with seven corners and five being right-handed – tyre strategy will be crucial. Barbagallo Raceway is one of the shortest tracks on the calendar, with a total lap time of 55 seconds and 2.4km in length – but there’s no taking away from the technicality.

“Perth is a very short but technical track. There are seven corners in total and five of them are turning right, so it’s obviously quite demanding on the tyres,” said Sinni.

“We’ll have to ensure that we set the car up right and look after the tyres as well as front tyre temperature and brake temperature. Qualifying as always will be key. Passing opportunities are limited, with the most obvious overtaking spots to be at turns six and seven under brakes.”

Friday will kick off all the action with two 40-minute practice sessions, followed by a 40-minute qualifying session and a race on both Saturday and Sunday.

“I’m really looking forward to getting in the car this weekend. I’m hoping we can have a better crack than at Bathurst, we just weren’t quite where I’d have liked to have been. So, hopefully we can come away this weekend better placed and a little further up the grid,” said Sinni.

“A big thanks to the crew for getting the car prepped and ready and also a big thank you to all of my sponsors and supporters. I wouldn’t be here without you guys, it’s really appreciated.”
