The Dunlop Super 2 Series has wrapped up for the season on the streets of Adelaide at the VAILO Adelaide 500. A first for Jordyn Sinni on the street circuit, who came away from the weekend with some mixed results.
The rookie rolled out for practice on Thursday and finished 16th and 15th respectively. Times were tight for Saturday’s qualifying sessions and Sinni didn’t quite manage to make it into the top ten. Starting from P14 and P15 for the two races, Sinni knew he had some work to do
The first 40min race didn’t quite go to plan for the Car City backed entry after an incident at the exit of Turn 5, finding himself in the gravel.
“I couldn’t quite cut into the top ten in qualifying unfortunately. So, it was quite chaotic in the middle of the field there,” said Sinni.
“I just mis-judged the corner in the race and went spearing off. It was just a silly error from my behalf.”
Sunday’s race 2 saw more chaos, with plenty of battles and Sinni executing an impressive overtake on the inside of Nash Morris. The #54 Car City Holden managed to cross the line in 13th.
“I had lots of fun on Sunday. A big thanks to the crew for getting my car back out there and for all their hard work over the weekend,” said Sinni.
“Adelaide is such a cool track, I really enjoyed it. I’m glad I now have that experience under my belt and hopefully I can go one better next year.
“A big thanks to Eggleston Motorsport for a great year and also to all of my sponsors and supporters. I wouldn’t be here without you all. I look forward to what next year holds!”
The Dunlop Super 2 Series will return for the 2024 Bathurst Super Fest, 16-25 February.
